Welcome to the Mathematics Department

Mathematics at Bucksburn Academy

Mathematics lessons will feature a variety of active learning tasks such as investigations and pupil presentations, individual and group work and opportunities for the use of ICT. They will also include teacher led exposition followed by work from an appropriate text book on a regular basis. Pupils will also routinely practice non-calculator and mental agility skills. Through our daily interactions with pupils the department aims to provide opportunities for all to develop themselves as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

Homework

Homework is issued on a regular basis. This might involve finishing off class work, completing an extended homework exercise or doing a homework from the MyMaths homework website (login information for the MyMaths website is on display in every Mathematics classroom).
